The eighth conversation of the drift dialogues with Ort schafft Material (place creates material):
In August 2020, the social designers Giulia Pompilj and Elena Stranges moved into Haus der Statistik and initiated the workshop series Ort schafft Material. In doing so, they invite us to inspect urban spaces with a different reading and to look for materials that can be recycled. During the interventions of the varying formats, they question how urban dwellers have been taught by society to use the city and how this input can be unlearned in order to approach contemporary, sustainable approaches to urban living. They describe the urban space as a place of culture and inspiration.
