OPEN CALL
JUST CITY – Self-determined urban practice
Whether budget cuts, the shift to the right or other external influences, organisations are currently more and more dependent on organising themselves in order to create security for their communities, to be able to express solidarity freely or simply to ensure the continued existence of the grassroots movement.
They are also under increasing pressure to organise themselves and find new solutions for self-determined, autonomous action in order to survive on an economic and structural level.
The fifth issue of the zine series JUST CITY aims to address precisely this issue and collect solutions, experiences, ideas and positions on self-determined urban practice.

The zines are curated by the Urbane Praxis association and NYU. The aim is to create an exchange between New York and Berlin. Similarities will be highlighted and practices exchanged. Urbane Praxis e.V. wants to bring together a network of urban design actors to explore artistic and civic impulses for the further development of a solidary urban design movement.
We particularly encourage people, initiatives and organisations that position themselves from marginalised perspectives to participate in this OPEN CALL, which we expressly welcome in view of our goal of breaking down and communicating access barriers to the cultural sector and thus working in a power-critical manner.
