Brunch the System – Die Just City Matinée!
Was braucht eine gerechte Stadt, um widerständig, lebendig und solidarisch zu bleiben?
With the new issue of Just City – Zine E – Selbstbestimmte Urbane Praxis, we invite you to a matinee of exchange, listening, and joint reflection. Over coffee, snacks, and mimosas, we will not only raise our cups together, but also leaf through a wide variety of zines and ask ourselves questions about self-determination, resilience, and solidarity in urban design.
How can art and culture create spaces for mutual support?
How can we remain capable of acting in times of pressure, isolation, and repression?
And how do we forge alliances that endure beyond individual projects?
A major highlight will be the release of the new edition of Just City in cooperation with New York University Gallatin. We are extremely proud of what this joint effort has produced!
But what exactly is there to experience on the day?

Zine E – Self-determined Urban Practice
This issue of the zine addresses the urgent question of how urban practice can be made more resilient and politically independent. Genuine solidarity and sustainable, intersectional structures require a shift in thinking – a change that connects people, promotes mutual support, and respects individual self-determination.
To this end, different perspectives were compiled, primarily relating to New York City and Berlin, based on collaboration with New York University. In various formats, the contributions reflect on how current changes are affecting different practices.
This issue was published by Urbane Praxis e.V. in collaboration with NYU. The aim is to create an exchange between New York City and Berlin, highlight similarities, and share practices. The zine contains guest contributions, interviews, poems, and graphics that open up opportunities for readers to not submit to a supposed norm, but to become active in shaping the city and bringing about change.
