Zu Gast Bei…
Bewohner*innen und Protagonist*innen der Leipziger Straße gewähren Einblicke in Alltägliches sowie Ausblicke in die Stadtlandschaft.
From fall 2024, residents and protagonists of Leipziger Straße will be inviting guests and providing insights into everyday life as well as views of the urban landscape. They shape and have shaped Leipziger Straße and will become hosts in the event series “Zu Gast bei…”.
The Berlin office Poligonal is responsible for the KiSR supporting program. Poligonal uses artistic and curatorial works to examine the interfaces between urban practice, urban mediation and architecture. With the aim of opening up non-normative perspectives, the collective develops formats for communicating and discussing urbanistic and urban sociological topics in interdisciplinary collaborations.
Zu Gast… Algisa Peschel, urban planner and resident of Leipziger Straße
Remembering together above the rooftops of Berlin: Algisa Peschel, former city planner in both divided and united Berlin and long-time resident of Leipziger Straße, invites you to reminisce together in her living room with a magnificent view over Berlin. Over coffee and cake, urban history meets personal experiences. Long-forgotten photo albums not only serve as a reminder for the hostess, but above all offer guests far-reaching insights into a bygone era.
Date: November 07, 2024, 16:30-18:00
Registration is requested at: leipzigerstrasse@poligonal.de
The address will be announced after registration.
Zu Gast bei… Galerie Klemm’s
At first glance, it is hard to imagine that there is still room for art and culture between a six-lane urban highway and 25-storey residential buildings. Or is that precisely why? As a non-conformist field of tension between urban development, spatial potential and undeveloped terrain, the area seems to have a strong attraction for artists and cultural practitioners. A curator’s tour through the exhibition Jan Groover / The 30s x 40s followed by a discussion will therefore focus on Leipziger Strasse as a new location for art and culture.
Date: November 14, 2024, 18:30-20:00
