About Urbane Praxis e.V.


Urbane Praxis e.V. is an association that advocates for the interests of urban practitionersoperates domestically. It builds networks and connects civil society actors, urban planning, administration,
and politics, to create vibrant and sustainable cities. The association represents
urban practitioners and shares knowledge to raise awareness of cross-departmental issues in the city. The Urban Practice Network is the central point of contact for initiatives, associations, and projects that develop cultural community spaces, self-organized open spaces, and urban spaces dedicated to the common good. We provide advice, share knowledge, and connect stakeholders and promote dialogue between civil society,
government, and politics. We see our work as playing an intermediary role: We build bridges
between the perspectives of urban society and public institutions and
work together to develop solutions for the equitable city of tomorrow.


The Position


For the Urban Practice Network, we are looking for a dedicated individual who enjoys
coordinating programs and activities, structuring processes, and working with
an interdisciplinary team to further develop Urban Practice in Berlin.
The project coordinator plays a central role between the team, management,
and the board of directors, and is specifically responsible for the substantive, organizational, and
administrative coordination of the network.


Your Responsibilities


Project Coordination and Organization


● Supporting management in the operational planning of activities and
programs for the Urban Practice Network
● Collaborating on the development and implementation of programs focused on
public-interest-oriented urban development
● Coordinating ongoing workflows and organizational processes within the
project team
● Preparing project plans, schedules, and task overviews
● Planning team meetings, organizing the flow of information, and reporting
● Contributing to the further development of internal workflows and

Organizational Structures


● Serve as the on-site point of contact at the office and provide support with office management
● Assist with initiatives related to diversity, inclusion, and outreach
● Research and analyze current topics in urban practice
● Contribute to public relations efforts and create informational and
communication materials

Grant Administration


● Providing administrative support to management in the implementation of the
funded project

● Organizing and facilitating workshops, networking events, and professional conferences

● Support with facilitation, documentation, and follow-up

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated individual with organizational skills, a structured
approach to work, and an interest in public-interest-oriented urban development, culture,
and networking.


What You Bring to the Table


● Enthusiasm and enjoyment in implementing and coordinating collaborative initiatives within
an agile team at a small nonprofit organization that aims to make a constructive contribution toward a
more equitable and resilient city
● A college degree or equivalent qualification in a
relevant field (e.g., urban development, cultural management,
social sciences, architecture)
● In-depth knowledge of urban practice and current processes
in public-interest-oriented and participatory urban development in Berlin
● At least two years of professional experience in project coordination,
project organization, or project management—ideally in the nonprofit,
cultural, or civil society sectors
● Experience organizing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders (e.g., government, politics, and civil society)
● Diversity competence as well as a discrimination-sensitive, power-critical, and team-oriented approach to work ● Knowledge of public funding and the organization of associations
● Excellent communication skills and a confident demeanor when interacting with various cooperation partners
● Very good German language skills (at least C1) and good English language skills
(at least B2)

● Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as well as
active participation in networking events and committees
