Since summer 2020, Stadtwerk mrzn (mrzn Workshop) has existed on the other side of Märkische Allee. The kids from the neighbourhood call the Stadtwerk “Baustelle” (construction site), the adults call it “Treffpunkt” (meeting point) and we would probably call it Urban Praxis.
Stadtwerk mrzn is an experimental construction site. Here, young and older people, new and long-established neighbours, initiatives and associations develop joint ideas for open spaces, new work perspectives and community-based urban development.
„Fuß in der Tür“ visited the Stadtwerk for one day. There was a shopping trolley production, a sewing and language workshop and all participants jointly baked pizza in the afternoon. Just another day at Stadtwerk mrzn!
