OPEN CALL for refugee architects at the “Festival for urban well-being ...around the Mäusebunker”

The festival for urban well-being …around the Mäusebunker (link to the festival announcement page) will take place from 12-22.09.24 and is dedicated to the creative, cultural and social activation of the open spaces around the Mäusebunker, opening them up to the neighbourhood and urban society. It offers a varied public programme to participate, discuss and try out.

On Saturday, 21.09.2024, the art education programme Ubuntus e.V. (link to the association page of Ubuntus e.V.). in co-operation with Urbane Praxis e.V. (link to the Urbane Praxis e.V. website) is organising an open live art studio in its mobile community studio for political contemporary art. The studio will focus on architecture. Together, Ubuntus e.V. and Urbane Praxis e.V. would like to offer two architects with refugee biographies the opportunity to give an insight into their work on the festival site of the Mäusebunker on the open studio day, each focusing on a specially selected core concept of the festival content
Translated with DeepL.com (free version) . Thematisch fokussiert sich das Live-Art-Atelier auf die Entwicklung von Entwürfen und Aushandlungen zu holistischen Gesundheitsstandorten, die vor Ort entstehen und vom Publikum live mitverfolgt werden können.

What is the context?
The festival revolves around the theme of urban wellbeing and health, drawing on the history of the building as an animal testing facility, the future development of the neighbouring Benjamin Franklin Campus towards basic health research, as well as the Mäusebunker model procedure, but also concepts such as the Caring City. Urbane Praxis e.V. aims to bring together a network of urban designers and neighbours to explore artistic and civic impulses for the further development of this iconic site and its surroundings. Together we would like to discuss, spatialise and experience the factors of urban well-being at the Mäusebunker site.
