//1 OPEN CALL
We cordially invite you to become part of Urban Practice LIVErary – a dynamic knowledge library on collective urban design.
From 7 to 8 June 2025, LIVErary will be part of the Karneval der Kulturen. The archive will be on site during the day on the forecourt of the Amerika-Gedenkbibliothek (Blücherpl. 1, 10961 Berlin) to exchange ideas with you and share knowledge and experiences.
We cordially invite you to bring your own publications and materials on the topic of solidarity-based urban design from a migrant perspective and add them to the constantly growing archive.
The LIVErary is a moving and living archive of initiatives of collective urban design and practice. Quite different from a quiet and institutionalised public library, LIVErary is a constantly evolving, open space for the active exchange of knowledge about liveable cities.
The archive includes all conceivable formats, from publications to self-published zines/magazines/books/brochures/manuals/project documentation/papers/etc. (so-called ‘grey literature’).
Karneval der Kulturen – Zukunfts(t)raum
The Karneval der Kulturen street festival is opening up its platform to think together with you about the future of our city and society. The Zukunfts(T)raum is a new area at the street festival – a place for critical dialogue, visions and concrete perspectives for action.

//2 OPEN CALL Your memory shapes space
Stories from different cultures come together in the Intercultural Living Room – told through everyday objects that symbolise migration, memory and belonging.
A scarf that your grandmother wove. A cup that has crossed continents. A photo, a scent, a sound.
These things are not just memories – they are also contributions to an urban practice that understands the city as a social, open and mouldable space. A space that is shaped in solidarity through stories, encounters and shared experiences – especially from migrant perspectives.
What we are looking for:
Everyday objects that tell a personal story of home, memory or migration for you
Short stories, oral or written, that you would like to share with others
Join us in designing a living room that has room for many worlds. Because a fair city begins where we listen to each other – and share space with each other.
📅 Date: 07.06.2025 (installation will also be on 08.06, without programme)
🕐 Time: all day
💬 Please send us an email by 03.06.2025 with the items/materials you would like to add to the installation so that we can plan: to Merve & Lisbeth
