Quite different from a quiet and institutionalised public library, LIVErary is a constantly evolving, open space for the active exchange of knowledge about liveable cities. Below you will find the option to contribute digital content.
This digital mediation and knowledge repository was spatialized by Torhaus e.V. into an analog form. To this end, Torhaus eV developed an event and space concept that was implemented as a mobile library – “LIVErary – a dynamic knowledge library on collective urban design”. The LIVErary makes it possible to collect, bundle and share extensive knowledge from the network. Part of this are self-published zines/magazines/books/brochures/manuals/project documentation/papers/etc. (so-called “gray literature”) on the topics of collective urban design, self-made city, civil society, public welfare-oriented and cultural urban development, but also scientific publications, manuals, toolboxes and much more. In the spirit of collective city-making, we see this as a collective know-how that we want to develop together and share peer-to-peer. The library consists of several modules that can be set up and dismantled individually at different locations. The LIVErary is currently accessible in the office of the Netzwerkstelle Urbane Praxis and can be continued and exhibited flexibly as a traveling library in the future.
