What comes after the vacancy? In a round table discussion with Wedding initiatives, activists and interested parties, we want to gather our experiences, knowledge and strategies relating to the Karstadt building. We will discuss ambivalent interim utilisation plans and the uncertainty about the status quo. For common perspectives against gentrification and privatisation in Wedding and as a starting point for the following days of action.

Workshop: Karstadt research through surprising performative practice
For two days, we will be playfully and energetically working on the empty space of the Karstadt roof as a meeting place, open space and place of longing for the neighbourhood. With performative exercises, writing sessions, political strategies and the creation of common rituals, we will immerse ourselves in different spatial practices and prepare an appropriation on Saturday afternoon, to which we invite the public.
Look forward to two days full of hands-on, active and embodied research and practice and a celebratory event on Saturday!
Wednesday & Thursday 3 – 7.30 pm: Followed by cooking and dinner
Friday/Saturday afternoon – flexible workshop time to prepare for the parade and test run on Saturday
If you are interested in the workshops, please contact us by 27 July at post@operation-himmelblick.com
