On Parasiting is an international art project that explores parasitic tactics as a contemporary methodology for resistant artistic practices. It responds by deliberately operating within existing systems and experimenting from within: Through performative adaptation and targeted provocations, power relations, processes of appropriation, and economic dependencies are made visible, their fragility exposed, and concrete spaces for action opened up for a resistant artistic practice.

The Parasite School marks the launch of On Parasiting. A hybrid of symposium, tactical workshop, and collective rehearsal space, the Parasite School brings together artists, theorists, and practitioners in Berlin to develop and discuss strategies of infiltration, embedding, and disruption. At the center is the figure of the parasite, not as a metaphor, but as a methodology for operating within hegemonic structures and destabilizing them through complicity.

Calender:
14.06 | 3 – 7 pm | Kickoff at Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik (ZK/U)

The Parasite School provides a temporary infrastructure for collective thinking and prepares artists for the subsequent phase of covert work within institutions and corporations. It asks how resistance can persist today, at a time when criticism is increasingly absorbed, regulated, or rendered ineffective, and proposes parasitic practice as a possible answer.

Contributions by Pilvi Takala, Oliver Marchart, Anna Watkins Fisher, Tobias Ginsburg, Jana Costas, Jakob Margit Wirth, the Post Brothers, and many others create a space where theory and practice intersect.
