Kreuzberg stories of migration, flight and resistance (2 hours)

Take bus 140, 165 or 265 to Bethaniendamm, then walk approx. 200 m. Alternatively, take the underground to Kottbusser Tor (U8/U3/U1) or Görlitzer Bahnhof (U1/U3) and walk approx. 1.2 km. The meeting point is the tree house by the wall at Mariannenplatz, directly on Bethaniendamm (10997 Berlin-Kreuzberg). There are parking spaces along Bethaniendamm, most of which are subject to charges during the day.
The tour is conducted in English. As we regularly conduct tours with school classes, the language is deliberately kept very accessible. German whispering translation can be provided if required.
As this is a two-hour city tour in public spaces, there are no permanent toilet facilities available along the way. However, numerous cafés and public facilities in Kreuzberg can be used if necessary.
The tour takes place during the day in the Kreuzberg district, with natural light and typical urban sounds. One person leads the tour, another is there for support. Passers-by can walk by, but are not part of the programme.
Content note: The tour deals with migration, racism, discrimination, feminist resistance, and refugee and asylum policy in Kreuzberg. Topics include state and social violence, police violence, racist attacks, suicide, hunger strikes, deportations, and experiences of war and exile. Breaks and exits are possible at any time.

Kreuzberg is characterised by migrant self-organisation and resistance. People from the Global South founded associations, occupied spaces and fought for participation – traces that are still visible today. Our tour invites you to explore these places and discuss their significance together.
