Open Day 202527.09.2025
On Saturday, 27 September 2025, initiatives, collectives and self-organised spaces throughout Berlin will open their doors. The Open Day – Making Urban Diversity Visible invites people to shape the city together, make perspectives visible and create space for solidarity, resistance and creative practices.
These spaces are under pressure: they are being destroyed by austerity measures, and perspectives are being suppressed. Urban practice often arises from resistance – against exclusion, displacement and urban policies that render spaces invisible. But it is precisely in these special places in the city – open, creative, communal – that shared themes, desires and utopias give rise to new ideas, encounters and a sense of togetherness that brings the city to life.
The day of action is part of a two-day format that begins on Friday, 26 September with a symposium and continues on Saturday with public activities in the city. Why? Because we want to have a say in ensuring that spaces remain and that urban diversity has a future. A city-wide intervention designed to make our approaches visible and our voices heard.
For spaces that remain. For a city that belongs to all of us.
