Workshop: Solidarity-Based Organizational Models in the Cultural Sector
While the cultural sector is often characterized by precarious, individual-based structures, an increasing number of cultural workers are experimenting with alternative forms of organization—ranging from self-managed collectives and cooperatives to solidarity-based networks.
In this workshop, we will examine specific models that emphasize participatory decision-making, fair distribution of resources, and shared responsibility. The focus will be on legal and practical questions: What legal structures are suitable for collective cultural production, and what are their implications in everyday life? How can decisions be made collectively without slowing down processes? And how can principles of solidarity remain viable under real-world economic conditions?
