Off to Hellersdorf, to the station urbanen kulturen / nGbK.

It takes 3 hours and 44 minutes on foot from Alexanderplatz to Hellersdorf. But how distant is the periphery in reality? Tomma Suki and Mona Saddei talk to Jochen Becker of the station urbaner kulturen / nGbK Hellersdorf about daily life in the large housing estate. Since 2014 the station has been on site, working and discussing with residents and artists about neighbourhoods, prejudices and living together. And about what really concerns the people there. Because there’s a lot happening “out there”. Among other things, there is a self-organised cricket team, which has even been playing in the regional league for some time. Just hop on the U5 and in 29 minutes you’ll be there to watch the training. It’s worth it, because: the Pampa lives!
