“BUILD FOR FUTURE” – Practical and intercultural learning

Training course – Part I

The project is aimed at young adults and professionals in youth and educational work. Together with the project coordinator, they explore the locations and look at ways of influencing district and village development processes as well as the forms of living and working together. In recent years, reconstructions of destroyed buildings have become an almost self-evident option for an inspiring and experimental type of construction. While cities benefit from this, it is more of an individual phenomenon in rural areas. Our experiment and research project investigates how dysfunctional spaces, in which the previous order seems to have been destroyed, (re)unite different actors and contribute to the development of new models of working and living. It is assumed that this will lead to further local interventions for sustainable development at these locations.

The objects were built from different materials and for different purposes and were partially or completely destroyed during or after the war. As a result of the destruction and later reconstruction attempts, the original quality of the buildings is barely recognizable.

Der erste Schritt besteht also darin, die Bestandsbuchungen vorzunehmen.

The aim is to familiarize yourself with the buildings and to understand the former design and construction of the houses (photographs, building plans, memorial sketches).

In a second phase, possible conversion scenarios will be discussed and the first drafts made.
