The Torhaus is a self-organized and self-managed community space
A platform for projects and ideas that try out creative forms of urban participation and joint design, and that in the former gatehouse of Tempelhof Airport.
The gatekeepers of the airport used to sit in the gatehouse. Now people come together here to work for a solidary, emancipatory and communal city for all. The house was built in the 60s and is, like the rest of the airport building under protection of historic buildings and monuments There are two medium sized rooms, a kitchen and a storage room. In addition to club meetings, exhibitions and workshops are to be held in the Torhaus in the future. What is learned from and with each other on a small scale is to be passed on to the large airport building and other urban development projects.
Our amplifier is the online community radio station THF Radio. From Thursday to Sunday, we broadcast live from Tempelhof to the world.
