The aim of this action and development concept is to try to
interdepartmental ways of working and thinking of urban practice on a development and

In the third experimental phase of the urban practice project “PlatzDa!”, local challenges, concrete measures and proposals for future transformation processes are presented.

This document does not claim to be exhaustive. The experimental phase of the “PlatzThere!” project was carried out on the wasteland at Zobtener Straße 70 (10317 Berlin) between January and September 2023 by S27 – Kunst und Bildung, an association for the promotion of intercultural youth work. The open space on Zobtener Straße has been developed by the Clubcommission since October 2022 and rented with the help of Eine Für alle EG as the sponsor. The Clubcommission took care of the infrastructure and management.

S27 was the initial player in the project from 2023 and erected temporary buildings in cooperation with the architecture firm raumlabor Berlin. The uses discussed below
of the interim use project have so far been tolerated by the city administration. The Clubcommission is currently in negotiations with Lichtenberg’s environmental and urban planning authorities in order to obtain (building) permits for future cultural and structural use.
The “Platz*da” project is intended to provide a representative illustration of the sectors in which
Urban practice formulates cross-departmental solutions and the extent to which these are embedded in the existing concepts/studies/plans of the individual sectors of the city administration
can be used. The aim is to show that interdepartmental work such as Urban Practice
more effective, more cost-efficient and more sustainable than the usual non-interdepartmental work of the
administration is.
