Insertions in a dead-end street

Insertions in a dead end street (17–25 July 2026) transformed Papierstraße in Berlin-Wedding into a temporary landscape of artistic interventions, performances, installations, and collective encounters. Bringing together seven invited artistic positions alongside talks, reading groups, guided tours, and neighbourhood gatherings, the programme explored how artistic resistance can operate through subtle acts of infiltration within the routines of everyday life. Rather than occupying public space through spectacle, the works engaged existing social relations, overlooked infrastructures, and local forms of care, memory, and play. Developed in dialogue with the neighbourhood, Insertions proposed public space as a site of solidarity, friction, and shared imagination, rehearsing how small artistic gestures can open new possibilities for collective action and rethinking urban life.
