There are toilets in the nearby S-Bahn station and in the restaurants on the square.

The location is situated on a thoroughfare, so traffic noise is to be expected. There are some homeless people in the area, so it is important to be sensitive to the local conditions when participating.
Content Note: We discuss addiction issues, social exclusion and topics that also address homelessness and marginalisation. These topics can certainly be distressing. It is important to listen to your own feelings and decide whether the discussion is appropriate for you at this time. If so, listen openly and approach the context and the people with interest, without scandalising them or bringing your own ‘they are like that’ perspectives to the discussion.

What spatial issues arise in the field of accepting addiction support? The Fixpunkt Mobil travels to Stuttgart Square, among other locations. Here, people are offered the opportunity to consume illegal substances in a clean environment and under supervision. Tea and food are provided, and social work counselling is available. However, the mobile unit is also a response to the acute lack of space for a permanent support facility.
We reflect on the status quo at Stutti and in Berlin with regard to substance use, social work and public spaces. To this end, we walk a route, listen to the local support structures and learn from Stutti which infrastructures work well here. And we discuss which ones would still be conceivable.

Fixpunkt e.V. X Felix Egle X Kiosk of Solidarity

Fixpunkt offers accepting and non-judgmental drug support and health promotion. Felix Egle works as a communications and social designer in the field of addiction support, among other areas. The Kiosk der Solidarität (Solidarity Kiosk) is an urban practice format that intervenes in the contested social fields of work, health and housing in Berlin. At Stutti, we bring together practices and perspectives and reflect on questions of urban practice and accepting addiction support.
