We have a new series of events! With ‘DACademy – short formats for practice’, we want to share our expertise in diversity development and counselling in the cultural sector with you in a compact and practical way. In mini-workshops, moderated peer-to-peer discussions or short inputs followed by a Q&A, we will introduce you to key topics in diversity development in an accessible way. You can ask us questions and benefit from our experience. The formats last around two to four hours and are therefore hopefully easy to integrate into your daily work routine.

The next topics in the series are:

Awareness in the cultural sector on 27 June 2025 | 10 am – 1 pm | Face-to-face workshop
The short workshop teaches practical methods in the field of awareness and shows how these can be implemented in practice. It offers an introduction to dealing with awareness in your own work context and developing initial strategies for prevention and intervention.
The workshop is aimed at all cultural professionals in Berlin who work on the conception and organisation of events in the cultural sector.

Talking spaces – confronting discrimination, supporting those affected – July 2025 | Online workshop
Our anti-discrimination counselling team shares tips, experiences and ideas: How can cultural workers affected by discrimination be supported after an incident?
For anyone who wants to advise and/or support those affected – works/staff councils, diversity working groups, interested colleagues and allies.

Relaxed Performance – October 2025
This short format provides insights into the event practice of ‘Relaxed Performance’ and its basic principles. The aim of Relaxed Performance is to create a relaxed event atmosphere and thus a welcoming atmosphere for people who are excluded in event spaces with strict behavioural conventions, such as disabled and neurodivergent people.
The format is aimed at all cultural professionals and artists with and without disabilities who want to make their work more inclusive.

Diversity development – using resources in solidarity – November 2025
For cultural practitioners from all sectors
The aim of the workshop is to explore the individual and institutional scope for anti-discriminatory work in the cultural sector. What can each individual do, what is possible together as a team? Based on our do-it-yourself workshop, we will work together to develop ideas for working practice.

Registration for the Awareness in Culture workshop is already open. Registration for the other DACademy workshops will always be possible around one month before the workshop takes place. You will be informed in this newsletter.
