What is it all about?
In media training courses, we qualify you – people from migrant and non-migrant Black, PoC, Muslim and Jewish communities – in dealing with the media and media professionals and as potential experts. We teach ‘technical’ skills such as developing a communication strategy, speaking into a microphone or in front of a camera, target group-appropriate language, social media management, etc.
We will put you in touch with journalists as experts in your subject areas. In this way, we will establish a quick-witted network of migrant, racism-critical and anti-colonial civil society.
Our offer
The workshops are part of a series of training courses that strengthen activists in terms of content and methodology to speak out as experts in the media, but also in the wider civil society from our perspective and on our topics (e.g. flight/asylum, citizenship/voting rights/naturalisation, participation, health, education, work, housing, children and youth, gender equality, queer, disability, religion, etc.).
Participants should be interested in being included in a pool of experts so that they can be referred to editorial offices/media professionals if required.
The workshops between May and November 2025 are free of charge and open to all Berlin activists and representatives of migrant and non-migrant Black, PoC, Muslim and Jewish organisations/initiatives and communities.
The workshops usually take place from 10 am to 4 pm. There may be deviations, which we will inform you about in advance by e-mail.
