On February 29, 2024, from 7 to 10 p.m., we cordially open the doors to the final exhibition of the ... Final Exhibition “We are Open!”

If you are using public transportation, the U6 is the best option to get to Platz der Luftbrücke. There is an elevator at the Platz der Luftbrücke subway station. The path from the station to the gatehouse is about 500 meters long and asphalted.
There is a large parking lot directly opposite the gatehouse, which is subject to a charge. Sometimes the parking lot is closed because events are taking place at the airport. You are welcome to contact us before your visit to find out if the parking spaces are available.
The entrance door on the Columbiadamm side is 88 cm wide and therefore not barrier-free. However, there is a second entrance door at the back, which is 90 cm wide and has a ramp for wheelchair users. The gatehouse itself stands on a 10 meter wide sidewalk with a 10 cm high curb.

The gender-neutral restroom in the Torhaus is not barrier-free. The nearest accessible toilet is located in the airport building. If an event is taking place in the Torhaus, we can spontaneously contact the building staff to provide access to the barrier-free toilet. The distance from the gatehouse to the barrier-free toilet is about 800 meters.

We try to create a relaxed atmosphere at events in the Torhaus. We adhere to awareness guidelines that apply to everyone present. Awareness means that together we create a space in which we treat each other with respect and respect each other's boundaries. We therefore do not tolerate any form of racism, sexism, ableism, anti-Semitism, queer and trans hostility or any other discriminatory, violent behavior. If you observe something or are affected by assaultive, discriminatory behavior yourself, you can contact the organizers at the Torhaus at any time.

Many barriers are not directly visible. For us, acting more inclusively means considering invisible disabilities, limitations and challenges at events and creating the best possible access. However, we work a lot on a voluntary basis and cannot guarantee that we always have everything in view. If you have any criticism or suggestions to make the Torhaus a more inclusive place, please contact us at any time or write an email to: info@torhausberlin.de.

On February 29, 2024, from 7 to 10 p.m., we cordially open the doors to the final exhibition of the “We Are Open” artist residency!

Three groups each spent two weeks working in the gatehouse to explore how a gate can become a house. In this exhibition, they present their diverse exhibitions and documented processes from this creative period.

The Torhaus invites you to enjoy drinks 🥂, listen to quirky music and celebrate art together. Visit the Torhaus and get to know the artworks and the makers behind the works.
