For several years we have been working as a collective to make roofs accessible to all city dwellers and for ... Own (y)our Roof – Workshop zur Zukunft des Drüber Seins.
Operation Himmelblick

It is an outdoor event on the open deck of a parking garage. This is barrier-free accessible via the interior of the shopping center with a lift. The event is signposted from the department store entrance.

Public transport: U6 Seestrasse (100m), tram 50, M13 Seestrasse (250m)
Paid parking from the second hour (€2/h) in the Cittiepoint car park with direct access to the elevator

The discussion event will take place in English, depending on the agreeing discussion partners.

The toilets of the shopping center can also be used. These can be reached barrier-free via the elevator, but are not gender-neutral or specially equipped.

Light: We will work with natural daylight and artificial lighting in the evening hours, projectors will be used for presentation purposes.

Noise: The event takes place outdoors in the immediate vicinity of Müllerstrasse. Increased noise pollution, also from the ventilation systems on the roof, is therefore to be expected.

Darkness: the event starts in the evening hours, it will get dark over time.

People: We expect around 50 people to take part in the event. Due to the isolated location, hardly any passers-by are to be expected. But the place offers enough space to get away from the event

Drinks will be offered on a donation basis. Müllerstrasse offers catering options.

In terms of content and language, the program is not aimed at children. Childcare cannot be guaranteed, parking spaces for baby buggies are available.

We wish to treat each other with consideration and solidarity. All information about the awareness concept can be found here https://www.urbanepraxis.berlin/awareness/

For several years we have been working as a collective to make roofs accessible to all city dwellers and for the long term. We fail again and again due to obstacles such as lack of funding, too little political pressure or lack of trust in our non-commercial approach.

Our work has therefore mainly consisted of conceptualization, successful building permit procedures, agenda setting and temporary uses.

For this reason, we invite to this workshop all interested people who feel like developing a new strategy for our work with us, in order to realize Weitblick für Alle as soon as possible.

Please come and think, discuss and develop with us! We ask for registration at post@operation-himmelblick.org

Event location:

Cittipoint, Parkdeck 4, Müllerstraße 141, 13353 Berlin

Organization/ Initiative:

Operation Himmelblick aims at the communal, non-commercial activation of existing roof areas in self-organized processes. We would like to turn the closed roof space into an everyday place of gathering, which allows many to experience the privilege of being on top.

Funded:

This program/workshop/publication is supported by the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Housing as part of the expansion of the Netzwerkstelle Urbane Praxis, carried out by Urbane Praxis e.V..
