Transformation in Hellersdorf – Performativer Workshop

Workshop on collective mapping and designing bags with green space vegetation motifs, favorite places, potentials.

Accessibility

The event will be held on a green area outside, and is therefore dependent on the weather. Even though the place can be reached barrier-free via the Auerbach Ring and the Maxie- Wander Straße, the paths are uneven and sandy. Entering the green area from it (south direction), the venue is directly visible.

Arrival:

The underground station Cottbusser Platz (U5) is only about 200m away. Leaving the station to the south, you directly reach the beginning of the green area, here you have to overcome a 3-4m height difference. After about a short walk across the green space, the venue is clearly visible. The area can be reached barrier-free via Auerbach Ring or Carola Nehler Straße, and subsequently via Maxie Wander Straße. There are also numerous parking lots in this street, from which it is only 20-50 m to the venue. In case of special need, the green area can also be accessed by car to get in and out of the car.

Languages

The workshop will be conducted in German. If necessary, explanations can be given in English or Croatian. Communication via GoogleTranslate or similar with people with other languages is welcomed.

Toilettes

Since the event is held on a green area outside, we only have an "emergency" restroom. This is located about 400m away, is gender-neutral and barrier-free to reach.

Stimuli

The event takes place outdoors and is exposed to the appropriate weather conditions. On the surface itself, there is little external stimulus. The place has the character of a natural space (> natural sounds) and has a calming effect on most people. The subway can be heard some distance away.

Catering

During the program there will be free snacks and drinks (water, spritzers, fizzy drinks).
In about 600m distance there is a Rewe with a bakery, as well as small snack bars.

Children

The program is not aimed specifically at children. However, they are welcome to participate in the workshop if accompanied by adults (recommended for ages 10 and up).

Awareness Team

Since the event is relatively small, and mainly carried by two people, therefore there is no additional awareness person. Nevertheless, we will point out to participants the possibility of direct confidential conversation throughout the event with us as organizers.

As part of the practical week, a workshop on designing bags, banners, purses, etc. from recycled truck tarpaulins, with motifs of green space vegetation, favorite spots, potentials, etc. of the district/green space should be held with the residents, so that these can be used in the long term the quarters are carried.

The Peripherilion is a temporary pavilion that shows the potential of open spaces and vacancies through joint action in the outskirts of Berlin. The word creation from periphery + pavilion + chameleon reflects the main content. As part of the practical week, a workshop on designing bags, banners, purses, etc. from recycled truck tarpaulins, with motifs of green space vegetation, favorite spots, potentials, etc. of the district/green space should be held with the residents, so that these can be used in the long term the quarters are carried.
