Ever since the ZK/U was founded, there has been a misunderstanding about the surrounding park. Many people think that it “belongs” to ZK/U or that ZK/U has some special rights. However, the park that this neighborhood has gained as a result of new investment in derelict land (former DB freight yard) is a publicly accessible green space that falls under the jurisdiction of the Parks Department and ZK/U’s lease obligations, such as garbage collection and irrigation. subject to plants.
Together with the youth collective Untergang we are making a documentary about the Stadtgarten Moabit through the representation of different coexistence infrastructures, community garden enthusiasts, beekeepers, small forest educators, solawi prophets, boule players, experienced radio amateurs, graffiti crews and maintenance collectives. The main objective is to show that the park basically belongs to everyone, but due to the fact that it is small and overused, a kind of “designed coexistence” is required. The short documentary is a combination of awareness campaign and youth work, as the entire production consists of being made by the collective Untergang. We will use two existing events in which all partners can participate who need this his interview will be present, ZK/U Biotop summer festival (02.09, sponsored by Draußenstadt) and music event produced by the collective Untergang on 07.09 together with other youth from the neighborhood. In this way we not only have the classic after-movie, but the entire process of conceptual development, development of dramaturgy, spatial design/situations, recording, editing and distribution.
